Julie's Jukes: Vacation time is here!

The end of the semester is finally here! I didn’t think I would make it.
This semester has been incredibly busy and stressful and I am in desperate need of a break. Luckily, I already have a vacation planned.
My sister’s friend is having a destination wedding in Tennessee, so my mom, sister and I decided to take advantage of the event. We are going to have a girls’ trip by going early to Tennessee to spend the whole week there before the wedding.
I am so excited to have a week of no school or work, so I can focus on having fun and relaxing with my family.
We don’t necessarily have a lot of specific plans for the week. We are going to play it by ear and just go with the flow.
One plan that we do have is that my sister and I are going to get professional massages, which I am super excited about.
We plan to go sightseeing, have a campfire with s’mores and just enjoy each other’s company.
I plan to make a dent in my pile of to-be-read books and work on a couple knitting projects that I haven’t touched since the winter break.
Later in the summer I do have another trip planned, but this trip is school related. A couple of my classmates and I got picked to volunteer at an interpreter conference in Ohio this summer.
I am really excited about this trip because I will get to meet a lot of professional sign language interpreters and attend workshops, which will help expand my knowledge of both the language and the career of interpreting.
I do plan on taking classes this summer, but after the chaos that ensued during this semester, I am going to be focusing on myself and my physical and mental health.
The past few years have been crazy. I hope this year will be better and my life will calm down a bit (knock on wood).
