Kelly's Korner: An exciting weekend

I have lived in East Lansing for about three years now. Over the past weekend, for the first time, I experienced a weekend full of fun in the area.

I kicked off my weekend by attending my first Michigan State University football game, as the Spartans played against Ohio State University. Seeing the amount of people who had traveled just to see this game blew my mind away.

What was even more mind-blowing is that the stadium was filled with just as much Red and White as it was Green and White.

I must say, while it was a nice experience, I probably won’t attend another collegiate football game. Cold weather is not something I enjoy, and I’m definitely not a fan of the screaming and shouting that sport enthusiasts like to get into.

The game ended 49-20, with MSU being defeated. Talk about a blowout.

I completed my weekend fun by visiting High Caliber Karting and Entertainment at the Meridian Mall in Okemos.

I purchased the weekend pass, which included three go-kart races and unlimited access to all of the activities the center offers: Pocket Soccer, Gelly Ball, Dodge Ball, Archery Tag, Axe Throwing, Rage Room and Throw Bowling.

The center offers two different tracks for kart drivers to race on, and both were pretty fun. The blue track was my favorite, since I beat my husband two out of the three times on that track.

My favorite activity that High Caliber offers was definitely the Gelly Ball game. Gelly Ball is a variation of paintball, except our ammo were called “orbeez” (water beads).

After playing around for a while, I tried the frozen peach margarita from the bar because I love a good frozen drink!

If I were to rate the drink, I would give it an 8 out of 10 just because I would have enjoyed a bit more of the peach flavor in the drink, or a mix of pineapple.

Overall, I had one of the best times in the area last weekend. I would recommend anyone who is looking for some entertainment in their life to visit High Caliber Karting and Entertainment.
