Jonah's Jabs: Passionate about sports

Hello readers. My name is Jonah Unger and I am a first-year college student at Lansing Community College, as well as one of the new members of The Lookout.

I was born May 20, 2004 in Owosso. Although I moved around a lot during my high school career, I ended up at Lincoln High School in Owosso as well as earning the “Owen A. and D. Arlene Rood Journalism Scholarship.”

I am majoring in creative writing as a full-time student.

I have played and enjoyed various sports for a good portion of my 18 years spent on this planet. Those sports include football, wrestling and basketball. I am also a huge NBA fan and keep up with it as much as I can.

My favorite sports teams include the Detroit Pistons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (before Tom Brady joined) and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

When I am not working or studying, I enjoy writing poetry and creating music playlists on Spotify. I create these playlists for very specific situations that I will probably never use in my life.

I also like arguing with friends on where to go to eat, browsing online stores for expensive things I will most likely never be able to afford, playing video games and watching TV. My favorite show is “BoJack Horseman” on Netflix, and my favorite game is probably “NBA 2K” or “Stardew Valley.”

I am very excited to be working for The Lookout. I find it as a great learning experience as well as a life experience. I hope everyone has a great semester.
