The performance hall of the MSU Community Music School burst into song on Sunday,
April 30 as the LCC Jazz Band put on a spirited concert.
Audience members of all ages gathered to tap their toes to the lively rhythms of jazz. The band’s performance ranged from smooth, timeless classics to fun, fast-paced pieces from contemporary composers.
The full band gave an excellent performance, but the soloists really took the show to the next level. Whenever a band member rose to give an improvisation, concert-goers knew they were in for a treat. As the musicians played, their eyes would close and their bodies would sway, but guests only needed their ears to feel the passion radiating from their instruments.
While the show was worth any price of admission, patrons were treated to a free show, which is enough to make anyone want to dance.
