The LCC Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is sponsoring this year’s GlobalFest. It will be a two-day event exploring themes of “Climate, Culture and Change.”
The event will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 in Gannon Building room 2214. All students, faculty, staff and community are welcome and no registration is required.
The Global Awareness Committee brings GlobalFest 2024, an event that will emphasize the repercussions of climate change on geopolitics, global food insecurity and effects on the immigrant experience.
GlobalFest is a sustainable music platform. It has evolved into the non-profit service organization it is today. The group uplifts curators, artists and the performing arts, according to the website.
LCC’s GlobalFest 2024 will feature experts, performers and faculty, touching on the climate-change issues that will be the focal point of this year’s event.
In reference to the GlobalFest site, “Through its work, GlobalFest encourages networking and cultural diplomacy; deepens cultural understanding among its constituents; builds audiences for international music; and creates new opportunities for artists, leading to a more robust and sustainable ecosystem for world music in the United States.”
