Review: 'HelloFresh' a fun alternative

This food review will be a little different than my other food reviews. Instead of going to a restaurant to try out new food, I have brought the food to me (and my kitchen).

My boyfriend and I decided that it would be worth it to try out the famous “HelloFresh.” This is a meal delivery service that will send you perfectly portioned out ingredients with recipes for you to cook at home and try.

It’s supposed to limit time spent grocery shopping, limit the need to go out for dinner (something Kobe and I struggle with) and provide delicious home-cooked meals.

It’s only been a week and already I’m in love with the service.

One of my biggest pet peeves when planning out dinners for the week and going grocery shopping is that you have to either have leftovers or make dinners with the same ingredients in order to really get your money’s worth. What I love about HelloFresh is that it offers the same healthy and yummy ingredients I would buy at the store, but in smaller portions so that I have exactly what I need for dinner.

I also love that we get to try new things, and I get to cook things that I hadn’t ever cooked before.

For instance, the other night I made us pork and cheese taquitos, which turned out phenomenal! And the night before that we had Pork Bulgogi Bowls, a Korean dish with sliced pork, pickled cucumbers, spiced up carrots and jasmine rice. Although my boyfriend was hesitant, he ended up expanding his taste buds and loving this meal as well.

I would highly recommend this service to anyone else who has the same issues we did: going out too much, not really sure what to cook at home and being sick of leftovers. HelloFresh has lots of discounts to sweeten the deal, so definitely do your research before ordering your first box.
