Review: Wing Snob truly disappointing

Today, I went to Wing Snob, located at 645 Menard Drive in Delta Township, for lunch and I can honestly say it made a bad day worse.

I didn’t know it until I arrived, but it’s one of those places that shares a building with a gas station and has no separating structure. For me, this ruins any dining experience.

Trying to keep things fair, I went in and ordered anyway. I got a 10-piece tender meal with a side of fries, and it was over $18. I was instantly irritated. No chicken tenders should ever cost over $10, and even that is a lot.

The dining area was small and could only offer the view of people pumping their gas; not exactly something to write home about.

I ate half of one tender and threw the rest away. The chicken itself did seem like a good cut that was well cooked; but every tender was saturated in sauce and dripping in grease.

The fries were good, almost too well-done, but because they were decent, they still earned a star by themselves.

The people behind the counter and in the kitchen seemed friendly enough, but I saw one of the workers blow his nose, not wash his hands and continue to work.

There was cheesecake and some other dessert type things displayed near the register, but it didn’t look refrigerated, so, I decided to keep it a low-calorie day.

There are a lot of sauce options to choose from and the meal does include two reasonably sized side dipping sauces, which is more than I can say for a lot of places in Lansing.

I wouldn’t go again but I think there may be some hope for the establishment. I WOULD recommend sanitation training for the entire staff. I understand that everyone is doing their best, but when it comes to food preparation, I demand perfection because anything less is LIFE-THREATENING.
