Three and a Half out of Five Stars

If you are looking for a new spot to get wings, you may want to try Valley Wings at 2398 Jolly Road, suite 600, in Okemos.

I had the opportunity to try a couple of things off the menu and I was not disappointed.

You can order food in the standard ways, by calling, ordering online, or in-person. The menu is simplistic, with traditional or boneless wings by themselves or in a combo. There is also a plethora of flavors of wings including as jerk, sweet teriyaki or lemon pepper.

I like the menu options for the fries. Valley Wings has chicken alfredo, buffalo chicken and chicken-bacon ranch fries.

I called my order in and it only took around 20 minutes for it to be ready.

Despite the main menu item and attraction being wings, I decided to order the buffalo chicken fries and a Kool-Aid. It is homemade Kool-Aid, so if you have a taste palette for sugary drinks, then it is for you.

Since it is a wing place, I felt that I could not give a proper review without trying the wings, so my fiancée ordered a plain five-piece traditional wing combo.

The whole order with the buffalo fries, wing combo and two Kool-Aids cost me $33.90, excluding the tip I left.

When I walked in, I noticed the wall was covered in writing. I asked the person who handed me the food about that, and she said they have people sign the wall whenever they try the place for the first time.

The fries were satisfying, while the flavor from the buffalo sauce and chicken complemented the fries. I had one gripe with them; there was so much ranch that, after a while, the fries can get soft. Because there were a lot of fries and food, it did take some time to eat and the fries did get soggy.

I tried my fiancée’s wings and although they were plain, they were good. The ranch that comes on the side was good with the wings as well.

Overall, I rate Valley Wings in Okemos a three and a half out of five stars. It was good but can get pricey quickly. It is perfect if you are trying to feed yourself and one other person, but if it is more than that, it can easily run you around $50 dollars.
