If you find yourself looking for a great hot chocolate, latte or artisanal seasonal drink options, Foster Coffee Co., located at 196 Albert St. in East Lansing, offers a variety of tasty coffee and tea options.

I have stopped there many times before for the shop’s summer specialty: dirty horchatas and cinnamon scones.

On my most recent visit, I wanted to treat myself and see what seasonal options the place has. Nothing really piqued my interest, so I ordered a matcha latte. I was pleasantly surprised Foster Coffee Co. had one cinnamon scone left, and I naturally decided to take the last one.

Walking in, the high ceilings and bright lounge area is usually packed with college students and business meet ups. A bit chaotic walking in some mornings, but a staircase leads to the second floor with a more intimate setting, away from the bustle.

The workers were a bit forgetful that day, so I had to ask for my scone again, but I am always pleased at how warm and helpful the staff is. So, I appreciate their hard work and friendly demeanor.

I am always patient with them and they are happy to resolve any mistakes made.

The matcha was so light and fluffy; it had the perfect amount of cinnamon and vanilla. I order mine with an espresso shot. In my opinion, it gives a fuller and more roasted taste to it. Plus, it gives a little extra pick-me-up.

The cinnamon scone came from the Foster Bakery out in Owosso. The pastries are baked fresh three times weekly. It was flavorful and the icing went so well with the spicy cinnamon, and I loved how it did not crumble after the first bite.

The menu is not very big, but each item of the menu is crafted with care and it shows itself when you take that first sip/bite. The shop offers some brunch options and smoothies. You can check out the menu here. Prices range from $1 to $10 for menu items.

I always have a great experience going to any of the Foster location, but this one is first pick when I want something sweet, or a place to enjoy a muffin with a friend. You can order in-person and online. If you decide to order online, you can sign up here.
