I recently visited Bordeaux, a restaurant that resides within the Crowne Plaza located at 925 S. Creyts Road in Delta Township. It was the best culinary experience I have had in a very long time.

I was welcomed warmly on my way into the building by almost everyone who worked there, including the diligent Director of Food and Beverage Brian Morden. I then settled into a cozy bar seat by choice.

The whole room was just impressive. I expected a somewhat cramped space, as it was an establishment within an establishment, but it was just the opposite.

There was a raised ceiling with elegant light fixtures, two of which I would have bought on the spot if it would have been possible. The color schemes were sleek and there were many cozy cup candles everywhere.

I ordered an old fashioned because it has been a busy week. It was made so well that I didn’t feel the need to ask for a water on the side, which hardly ever happens.

I was taken care of by Restaurant Manager Austin Smith and he was absolutely wonderful.

He encouraged me to get the homemade chips and dip – $7. He said it was something people often take home. I definitely was one of those people.

He told stories of a colorful college trip to Kenya and consoled me that student debt isn’t the end of the world.

It was a very rare moment of organic pleasant human interaction, but I would also like to thank the hiring manager for the entire staff that served me, because, wow!

I ordered the Wild Mushroom Pappardell for $22. It was quite possibly the best pasta I have ever had. I give my sincerest compliment to the chef, Stephney Florek.

I left with new friends, multiple boxes and a reasonable tab that placed Bordeaux at the top of my list for places to go in Lansing.
