Just Baked Smart Bistro is now available in the Gannon Commons on the downtown LCC campus, offering a variety of on-the-spot hot food options, ranging from about $4 to $9.
I have been into the commons frequently over the last three years, typically for events. Every so often, I see something to grab for a snack, or maybe an energy drink.
I was informed a week ago that LCC has just installed two Just Baked Smart Bistros! As soon as I heard they had hot BBQ Pork Dumplings, I headed there as soon as I finished up exploring the mall for food truck options.
The commons, in my opinion, is a vastly underused space. I had not been there much outside of some events I had attended, and quickly realized how much space there is. In only two minutes, my dumplings were ready.
I scouted out a table next to the window that looks out into Riverfront Park, plugged in my laptop and began writing and enjoying the soft dumplings. To my surprise they were so easy to eat. They stayed together through every bite and they were big!
The Pork Dumplings had a mixture of minced vegetables and a sweet and savory pork confit. I only wished I had a side of gyoza to go with it.
I was impressed by the convenience of the vending machines, and it brings something hot and comforting to the chilly months ahead. You can find more items on the menu here.
