When I first walked in to Strange Matter Coffee, the first thing I noticed was the fantastic smell of fresh pastries.

If there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I love pastries, especially donuts. Strange Matter Coffee, or just Strange Matter, has never let me down when it comes to donuts. My most recent visit was no exception.

Strange Matter has two Lansing locations, 2010 E. Michigan Ave., and 337 S. Washington Square, both within five minutes of LCC’s main campus. Both locations offer in-house seating and online ordering for pickup.

Along with a variety of donuts, Strange Matter offers a selection of other baked goods that all change seasonally. From cinnamon rolls and scones, to its own take on a Pop Tart, there is something for every sweet tooth.

Strange Matter also offers a selection of coffee and tea, but is known for its signature NOLA iced coffee. The NOLA is my personal favorite. The house-made simple syrup adds the perfect amount of sweetness, and the chicory root adds a nice unique flavor you won’t find anywhere else.

For four donuts and a NOLA iced coffee, my total came out to around $20, including tip. I highly recommend you check this place out!
