During my recent vacation to Dallas I had ramen for the first time. It was delicious, so I thought I would give one of the local ramen spots a try when I got back home.
Monday evening, I began craving ramen and started searching for the best restaurant for my experience.
I wanted something with a high level of spice, which led me to Mi Sushi & Noodles, located at 3340 E. Lake Lansing Road in East Lansing.
The restaurant had a minimalist decorated dining area, with every table already set and a cute book menu.
At the time, I was the only customer in the dining area and received slow service. Though it wasn’t bad, it could have been better.
I decided to go with the Volcano Chicken Ramen, since it was the spiciest option on the menu and I’ve heard good things about it.
My food only took about 10 minutes to come out. For only $12 the portion size of the meal definitely exceeded the expectation!
The chicken did not look appetizing nor appealing and the noodles were different than I expected, but I still decided to give it a try because looks could be deceiving.
I also asked for my ramen without the soft-boiled egg, and still received it anyway.
The broth was pretty good, though I was looking for a higher level of spice. The chicken was bland and the noodles were OK.
It seems the restaurant's specialty is in sushi rather than ramen.
Overall, I give the ramen 2.5 out of 5 stars. But that won’t stop me from looking for the best ramen in the Lansing area.
