There are a lot of options when it comes to grabbing a bite in the Lansing area, ranging from quick-and-easy food trucks to high-end restaurants. I know I’m speaking for many people when I say Mexican food is near the top of the favorites list.
If it is among your favorites, I suggest you check out El Azteco. The choice is yours between two locations: 225 Ann St. in East Lansing; and 1016 W. Saginaw St. in Lansing near LCC’s campus. Both have unique outdoor patios.
El Azteco is a bustling, colorful restaurant; the perfect place to get a delicious, affordable meal. It is home to a diverse menu of authentic Mexican cuisine. You can choose from their mouthwatering options or mix-and-match your meal; plus breakfast is served all day!
On my most recent visit, I started off with an appetizer. Guests have the choice of chips with salsa, queso, Pico de Gallo, or guacamole. I always struggle with saving room for my actual meal. I had adequately stuffed myself with chips while making the hard decision on what else to eat.
I settled on the Mole Enchiladas. This is an impressive plate brimming with two fried corn enchiladas, filled with pulled chicken and mole sauce, topped off with an impressive mound of lettuce, tomato and cheese. Let me tell you, if you ever want leftovers, eat at a Mexican restaurant!
El Azteco also has an impressive drink menu. I saw numerous, stunning drinks being brought out. And of course, we cannot forget dessert. The choice between Sopapillas and Cheesecake Chimi is a hard one, but I’m sure you’ve got this!
Not only is the food delicious, and the place inviting, but the experience is memorable. Bring your family, kids, companion, friends or even yourself for a solo meal. I’m sure you will have a good time.
