LCC is offering COVID-19 booster shots along with its annual flu shots on campus, Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Health and Human Services building.

Amy Stokes, the program director for Kinesiology, Health and Wellness at LCC talked about the services being offered.

“You can actually get the COVID-19 booster; it’s the newest version that just came out,” Stoakes said. “You can get it that with the flu shot and there is no contraindication of getting both at the same time.”

LCC has teamed up with Walmart Pharmacy to perform flu shots on campus for several years, minus the year COVID rose up. However, one thing LCC did not have until this year is a COVID-19 booster.

“We have a lot of students in the Health and Human Services division that require vaccinations or the flu shot to do their clinicals, so we have been offering this for quite a while.” Stoakes said.

LCC student Dara Long said she appreciate the services.

“This gives all LCC students a chance to get vaccinated,” Long said. “It’s really nice.”

The flu shot clinic is not only for students and staff at LCC.

“Family, friends or even neighbors that are looking to get their flu shot can come here and get that as well,” Stoakes said.

The entrance at the northwest corner of the Health and Human Services building will be unlocked. There is some paperwork needed to fill out in order to get the flu shot and COVID booster. The clinic only requires an insurance attestation form, as well as a vaccine administration record and informed consent paper.

These papers can be downloaded and filled out ahead of time by clicking here, or they will be available at the event.
