The LCC fitness facilities are open to students, employees and alumni. All LCC fitness facilities are staffed by fitness professionals who carry national certifications in strength and conditioning to assist students in their health goals.
According to the LCC site here, the Fitness and Weight Training centers are designed to help students increase their overall well-being; physically and mentally.
“Members looking for a cardio workout have access to an assortment of treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, row machines, our trainers and even an indoor track,” said Trevor Burns, director of HHS Facilities and Operations and Fitness and Wellness Program.
A variety of equipment is available that can fit to each unique students’ goals. Burns mentioned that customized fitness is for any one of any age.
According to Mike Ball of the Physical Fitness & Wellness Lab, students are welcome for open time or classes.
“Student are free to use the fitness centers, but we offer classes that you can enroll in to learn more focused physical conditioning, and to receive some extra credits,” Ball said.
For students who would like more in-depth training in certain areas of fitness, they can sign up for any of these classes: PFFT 100, 101, 102, 103, or PFFT 109. For more descriptions on any of the PFFT courses, click here.
“Programs include assistance with strength training, cardiovascular training, power, speed, agility and sport-specific performance enhancement,” Burns said. “Programs are tailored to the goals of the individual with periodic reviews to tailor programs to each person’s unique response to activity.”
Students can be at a beginner level and find a program to fit their needs, or if they are looking to advance, talk to the highly skilled faculty at any of the LCC Fitness Centers.
