LCC is now a part of “Choose Lansing,” an organization making travel for business or pleasure a simple and enjoyable experience.
“We are a destination marketing organization,” explained Certified Travel Ambassador
Anne Lavender of Choose Lansing.
She said Choose Lansing promotes tourism to the Greater Lansing area with charming
attractions. And those traveling for work will have a team of travel ambassadors who
can send proposals to regional venues to find the perfect spot to host a meeting or
event.
Known for 20 years as the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau, Choose Lansing seeks to bring visitors into the heart of Michigan to make a significant impact on local communities and businesses.
With choose Lansing, customers can download the new Lansing Experience Pass or Craft Beverage Pass by clickinghere. These free gamified passes allow people to check into attractions, outdoor recreation spots and other venues, accumulate points, discover discounts and earn prizes.
“If somebody is here and looking for something to do, they can download the pass and it gives them ideas,” Lavender said.
The Craft Beverage Pass will direct guests to local breweries, wineries and distilleries so they can discover the flavor of Michigan.
LCC will be a part of the Experience Pass, where people can also find an assortment of great restaurants, art museums, cider mills and more.
“Once you're physically (to your destination) you check in and the pass will recognize that you’re there.” Lavender said. “Hang out for a bit and then you earn points.
“There's a little section that says rewards. When you accumulate different amounts of points you get little prizes. … We have magnets, mugs, we have socks. People love socks. Don't ask me why; I do not know.”
LCC officials are welcoming those visiting the area to come and discover what the campus has to offer.
With the Experience Pass, tourists will find LCC’s Sculpture Walk and the Shigematsu Gardens. They can visit these attractions, rack up points, earn prizes and get to see all of the captivating corners of the Greater Lansing Area.
