This past weekend, my boyfriend Kobe treated me to a golf getaway in Gaylord at The Loon Golf Resort.
The Loon was having a Labor Day special, $300 per golfer (only $100 for me, not a golfer) that included a two-night stay in a townhome village, two breakfasts, two dinners and two rounds of 18-hole golf on its prestigious golf course.
It was a great deal! The townhome we stayed in was extremely spacious with an entire kitchen, living room, balcony, two full bathrooms and two bedrooms. We could have stayed there for weeks and would have been happy.
The Loon has an award-winning restaurant, which offered super yummy dinners, such as New York strip, ribs and much more. Both of the dinners we had were very good. They weren’t the best we’ve had by any means, but certainly very good for the price of it all.
The golf course itself was beautiful. It was surrounded by a gorgeous neighborhood and deeply forested. Personally, I prefer golf courses that are surrounded with woods rather than the small golf courses where each hole is separated by just a single line of trees.
It truly felt like an adventure, more than just golfing, when we would golf cart through the woods and over bridges to get to our next hole.
Each day we would wake up, get our free breakfast and enjoy the beautiful scenery before heading out for 18 holes. After, we would come back and get dinner and then visit the bar and head home for the night.
All in all, it was a really great trip and we have plans to make it a new tradition.
