The LCC Board of Trustees met in the Administration Building board room on the downtown campus, Monday Oct. 17. The entire board was present.

The board noted the upcoming departure of LCC Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Tonya Bailey, celebrating all of her accomplishments. She will be leaving LCC at the end of October.

“Dr. Bailey has accomplished a great deal during her four years at LCC, and I will personally miss her guidance,” LCC President Dr. Steve Robinson said.

Robinson said despite Bailey’s departure, LCC’s commitment to its equity agenda is permanent.

Robinson then spoke about the first year of LCC’s strategic plan involving the recent changes to LCC’s campus.

“(Changes include) wayfinding, landscaping, exterior lighting, the Gannon ramp … the list goes on and on,” Robinson said.

He spoke about the depth of each project and renovation, as well as the people behind them. He also spoke about the planned renovations of the third floor of the Gannon Building, as well as the ongoing Dart Auditorium renovations.

“We are in the process of remodeling the third floor of Gannon,” Robinson said. “We made big investments in renovating Dart. We're getting new seats, new sound panels and new lighting.

“We do have plans for bumping out the front … and having a lobby for Dart.”

Robinson presented concept renderings of the ongoing renovations.
