The LCC Board of Trustees met on Monday, Feb. 20. The meeting included an approval of 2023-24 course fees.

According to LCC Public Relations Director Marilyn Twine, about 20 percent of courses will involve an increase in price; 10 percent of courses will see a decrease in price.

“When estimated enrollment is taken into account, course-fee changes are budget neutral,” Twine said. “Over one-third of courses have no fee at all.”

The approval shows that students, depending on the course, may see change, or no change, in their prices paid.

There was also a board approval for a purchase of “Blue,” made by Explorance, for five years. “Blue” is course evaluation software.

“’Blue’ allows students to evaluate their courses at the end of each semester,” Twine said. “And (it) allows faculty to create formative evaluations to survey students at the beginning or midway through courses.”

Students, faculty and the public are allowed to attend any LCC Board meeting. Board meetings usually take place one Monday a month.

The meetings may be attended in person in the boardroom at the Administration Building at LCC, or via WebEx. For schedule information, click here.
