The Lookout Sports Writer Joey Schwindt recently spoke with LCC volleyball player Katelynn Davis. The 5-foot-9 sophomore defensive specialist attended Charlotte High School.
What was your inspiration for getting involved in volleyball?
“A lot of the girls that I looked up to in middle school played volleyball so I got
into it that way and ended up really liking it.”
When did you start playing volleyball?
“Middle school.”
What is your favorite thing about the sport?
“My favorite thing is the connections and friends that it has given me. It has also
enabled me to be able to travel a lot more places than I would have if I did not play
the sport.”
Is there a favorite player that you have looked up to?
“A beach volleyball player, April Ross, was one of the players I have looked up to.”
What is your favorite thing about playing at LCC and why?
“Once again, the connections and friends I have made from it. I feel like at least
a few of the girls I will be able to call friends for a long time and I always know
they are by my side.”
What is your major?
“Business.”
What are your plans after LCC?
“I am hoping to transfer to Michigan State and go into marketing or public relations
with a sports business (degree).”
