The Lookout Sports Writer Joey Schwindt recently spoke with LCC volleyball player Christina Williams. The 5-foot-11 freshman middle hitter attended Dansville High School.
What was your inspiration for getting involved in volleyball?
“In middle school I had a friend who was on the volleyball team, but I wasn’t old enough
yet to join. I would pepper every day in the backyard with her during the summer until
I finally got to join (the team).”
When did you start playing volleyball?
“Seventh grade. Ever since then, volleyball has been the center of my world.”
What is your favorite thing about playing at LCC and why?
“My favorite thing about playing at LCC is how close we are as a team. I know that
when we go out on the court, we are going to play for each other and collectively
give 100 percent to get the results we want.”
What is your favorite thing about the sport?
“The competitiveness. While skill goes into it as well, a lot of games are (decided)
on which team wants the win more and who is willing to give it their all.”
Is there a favorite athlete that you have looked up to?
“To be honest I do not have a favorite athlete. For a team in general, I enjoy watching
Nebraska volleyball.”
What are you majoring in?
“I am majoring in exercise science.”
What are your plans after LCC?
“I plan on transferring to Grand Valley State University to get my bachelor’s degree.”
