Athlete Spotlight: Runner Daisy Speet

The Lookout Sports Writer Joey Schwindt recently chatted with LCC women’s cross country runner Daisy Speet. The freshman runner is from Coopersville.
What was your inspiration for getting involved in cross country?
“My sophomore year of (high school) was my first cross country season.”
What is your favorite thing about the sport?
“I like the peace that it gives.”
Is there a favorite runner that you have looked up to?
“I have (a lot) of respect for Stephanie DiPiazza. She is a (runner) on my high school
team (who) is an awesome runner and very humble about it.”
What is your favorite thing about running at LCC and why?
“I love running at LCC because the girls are great. It is an (incredible) team environment
and hanging out with everyone is fun.”
What is your major?
“I’m going for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.”
What are your plans after LCC?
“I am unsure about my plans after LCC.”
