The Lookout Associate Editor/Photo Editor Kaitlyn Delaney recently interviewed LCC baseball player Preston Leon. Currently a sophomore at LCC, Leon graduated from Macomb Dakota High School.
When did you start playing baseball?
“When I was like 4.”
What position do you play? What made you want to play that position?
“I play center field, and that’s just where I’ve always played ever since I was a
kid.”
Do you have any moments from playing baseball that stand out?
“Going to the (NJCAA College) World Series here last year; that was probably my favorite
baseball moment.”
Is there one piece of advice you’ve been given that sticks out with you?
“Just to enjoy the ride and kind of don’t take anything for granted because it goes
fast.”
Do you have any game-day routines?
“Yeah, I always put my left sock and left cleat on first, then my right.”
If you weren’t a baseball player, what sport would you have played?
“Football, for sure.”
What are your plans after LCC?
“I’m most likely going to VCU in Virginia to play baseball and get my degree.”
