The Lookout Sports Writer Joey Schwindt recently spoke with LCC men’s cross country runner Julian Edwards. He is a sophomore who attended Holt High School.
What was your inspiration for getting involved in cross country?
“I started playing soccer my freshman year, and then my sophomore year (got) cut short
because of COVID. That forced me to do cross country.”
What is your favorite thing about the sport?
“Always having the family environment around you. Cross country is one of those sports
where you have people that always want to (support) you; everybody is proud of you
for what you do.”
Is there a favorite runner that you have looked up to?
“Eliud Kipchoge.”
What is your favorite thing about running at LCC and why?
“My favorite thing about running at LCC is (that) Coach Robinson is so interested
in getting you faster and doing stuff to better you.”
What is your major?
“My major is kinesiology (exercise science).”
What are your plans after LCC?
“My plans after LCC are to continue to run collegiately somewhere (and) also continue
doing kinesiology.”
