When did you start playing volleyball?
“I started playing volleyball when I was in sixth grade, actually.”
What is your favorite thing about volleyball?
“Probably just the team atmosphere and how it feels to win together as a team.”
Do you have any moments from playing volleyball that stand out?
“I would say this season specifically, just because our team is doing really well.
We’re 13-2 right now. So this team, this year, just really stands out to me. It’s
super fun. We’re just really good this year, and we weren’t really that good last
year, so it’s a lot more fun. This is my last year here, so it’s really cool that
we can have a good team.”
Do you have any personal or team goals for the rest of the season?
“Personally, I’m going to try to get to 500 digs at the end of the season; I’m at
230 right now. So, that’s my goal. Our team goal is to go to nationals, which is the
big thing at the end of the year. (It is) the highest any team can go to.”
Do you have any game-day routines?
“As a team we always get here early and listen to music. We play a game called speedball.
So that’s what we do; get hyped up and listen to music. If it’s an away game on the
bus we’ll just listen to music and try and get pumped up.”
If you weren’t a volleyball player, what sport would you have played?
“Oh wow. I don’t know; maybe basketball or soccer. I used to play basketball and soccer
a lot when I was younger, so probably that. But then I decided volleyball was what
I wanted to do.”
What are your plans after LCC?
“I think I’m going to go to MSU; probably play for their club team there, because
I don’t think I’m ready to stop volleyball yet, and just study there.”
