The Lookout Staff Writer Jayden Hewitt was recently able to chat with LCC cross country runner Barbara DeGood. A freshman at LCC, DeGood graduated from Caledonia High School in 2022.
When did you begin running cross country?
“I started running cross country in sixth grade.”
What’s one thing you would be doing if you weren’t a runner?
“If I wasn’t a runner I would probably play softball instead.”
Do you have any routines before you run?
“I don’t have any specific routines, but I usually listen to some music before I warm
up for a race.”
What plans do you have post-LCC?
“I hope to transfer to another school to keep running.”
What are some goals you or your team may have for this season?
“One of our main goals is winning nationals again.”
Do you have any specific music that pumps you up before you run? If so, what is it?
“I usually listen to rap, like some Detroit music, or Lil Baby.”
