The Office of Veteran & Military Affairs has been permanently relocated to the Huron Building (Building #3) and they are ready to help you through admissions, can help you set goals and explore the pathways that you are interested in. To schedule an appointment call 517-483-5246.

Getting Started

The Veteran Affairs staff is available to assist you with questions you may have about your educational benefits. We will also certify your enrollment to the Department of Veterans Affairs once you have enrolled in courses included in one of the approximately 600 degree and transfer programs offered at Lansing Community College.

Michigan Veteran Friendly School 2015

The Michigan Veteran-Friendly School program recognizes academic institutions of higher learning committed to supporting the needs of student veterans and dependents. The program awards Gold-, Silver- and Bronze-level status to institutions that offer veteran-centric services and programs. LCC fulfills 6 out of the 7 criteria listed below, and is ranked at the Gold level for 2015.

Veteran-Friendly School Program Criteria

  • On-campus veteran's coordinator and/or staffed veterans center
  • Active student-operated veteran club/association
  • Established process for the identification of current student veterans
  • Evaluation and awarding of credit for military training and experience
  • Veteran-specific website/portal
  • Monitoring and evaluation of student veteran academic retention, completion and graduation rates
  • Monitoring and evaluation of student veteran job placement rates

Bronze level: Complete three of the above
Silver level: Complete four of the above
Gold level: Complete six or more of the above
