Lansing Community College

The LCC History Program offers various events throughout the year using a historical lens to examine ideas, concepts, spaces, places, events and people. Everyone is welcome to explore history and engage in meaningful conversations.

  • LCC- Historians at the Movies features monthly film screenings and discussions, both virtually and in-person.
  • Reading with Historians is a yearly book club where participants receive a copy of the selected book—contact Anne Heutsche at heutsa@lcc.edu to join. Seating is limited to 15 participants.
  • Take A Stand! Sit In! is an annual interdisciplinary forum focused on social justice and racial injustice through talks, workshops and films with LCC and community presenters. https://takeastand.openlcc.net/
  • The Visiting History Scholar Series invites history professors from around the country to discuss relevant topics with the LCC community.
