Summer Program Offered through LCC Prepares Adults for College, builds Skills for Employment

July 8, 2014

Adults looking to return to college and gain the skills needed to be successful in today’s workplace.

LCC’s Gateway to Success Adult Boot Camp is designed to prepare adults of any age for a better college experience while gaining skills needed for today’s workplace. Students will complete self-assessments to identify potential career pathways, and meet with designated program advisors and career facilitators to complete an educational plan based upon their career goals.

Participants will also complete a 16 hour Microsoft and Internet Basics class which will award them one credit upon successful completion. Each week, students will also participate in faculty-assisted sessions at the Capital Area Michigan Works! Lansing Service Center for one-on-one or small group learning sessions in reading, writing, and math, and receive assistance with assignments.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning Monday, July 14 through Wednesday, August 6, 2014.

Classes will be held on LCC’s Main Campus in the Arts and Sciences building (Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings) and at the Capital Area Michigan Works! Lansing Service Center on Friday afternoons.

The program was developed in response to feedback from adult students about their college experiences. It ensures that all students, including non-traditional adult students, are fully prepared for a successful college experience. For more information, please call (517) 492-5580 or
