Articulation is a term used to describe the process that facilitates the transition of a student from one educational institution to another or from one level of education to the next with minimal duplication of coursework. When referring to articulation from high school (secondary) to college (post-secondary), we refer to this as Free College Credit.

Articulation agreements are formal written documents agreed upon by two or more institutions. They provide a value added component for high school students who want to get a jump start on their college education. Articulation is the responsibility of all those involved including secondary personnel, post-secondary personnel, parents, and students.

The secondary education partners and LCC work collaboratively to align the learning outcomes required for articulation. The secondary instructors are responsible for the initial screening of each student to determine who meets the requirements for articulated credit. The post secondary staff should feel confident that students know the material and will be able to succeed in their college courses.

Lansing Community College (LCC) engages in partnerships and articulation opportunities to enhance students' success and increase student access to advanced educational opportunities.
