Open Educational Resources (OER)

OERs are teaching and learning resources that are licensed for re-use with Creative Commons licenses (our default license in CC-BY-SA), and therefore free for students and educators, and publicly available. These includes a wide variety of resources such as textbooks, full courses, journal articles, datasets, and interactive learning content. OER are separated from other “free” content by the reuse rights that have been granted through an open copyright license such as Creative Commons (CC). With these rights, or permissions, we are able to adapt OER content for various contexts without worrying that we are running afoul of copyright law.

Look for workshops or stop in for information and support about how to create and/or access OERs. To request a consultation for how to use and/or create OERs, please use this form.
