Academic Success Coach

I am originally from a small town 20 minutes north of Flint, Michigan. I attended Central Michigan University as a first generation college student. After I graduated in 2009, I began work as a substitute teacher in special education classrooms. From there I went on to work at different non-profits providing family training and positive behavioral interventions for individuals with developmental disabilities. I have also worked with school systems as a behaviorist where I developed behavior intervention plans for students who needed the extra support.

I received my Master's Degree and certificate in Clinical Social Work with Families from Michigan State University in 2016. During my studies, I honed my clinical skills at the MSU Family Therapy Clinic and continued to advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities as well as other vulnerable populations.

I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family, traveling, shopping, and reading. My goal is to make Lansing Community College a better place to gain an education. I am passionate about helping students follow their dreams and find greater awareness of their many talents and skills. It is an honor to be here at LCC and I cannot wait to help as many students as I can!
