Academic Success Coach

Prior to becoming an Academic Success Coach, I worked in the medical field; first as a Phlebotomist with the American Red Cross, followed by various non-profits, working with people who were severely, multiply impaired. I earned a B.A. from Siena Heights University, in Community Service with an emphasis on Family Systems.

Using my extensive background in trauma service, I joined EVE (End Violent Encounters) as a Sexual Assault Advocate, working to develop this new program offered by the organization. From there I worked with the Salvation Army as the Pathway of Hope Case Manager, again working to develop a brand new program, which addressed inter-generational poverty to increase the quality of life for families in the Lansing area. It is an honor to serve now with Lansing Community College, as part of this exciting program to help struggling students achieve their goals.

As a product of LCC myself, I have a unique set of skills to help students navigate the juggling act of being a successful student. I am solution-focused, love a challenge, and firmly believe that there is always a way; sometimes we just need that helping hand to find the tools to succeed. I look forward to helping our students as they strive to achieve their dreams, and I’m here to help knock down the barriers to fulfilling that dream.
