for transferable Lansing Community College courses. Depending on the specific
degree chosen, general education requirements can vary.  A maximum of 63
semester hours of credit will transfer toward a Bachelor degree at UDM.
Because this guide offers more then the maximum number of transfer credits,
students are strongly encouraged to work with a UDM advisor when making
   course selections.
2. The BS/BA degrees in chemistry and biochemistry prepare students for numerous
career choices including teaching, medical forensics, and industrial
research. Graduates are also accepted in MS and PhD programs, as well as
professional schools, including: medical, dental, physician assistant,
veterinary, pharmacy, podiatry, optometry, chiropractic, and law.
3. UDM College of Engineering and Science entrance requirements: minimum of
2.5 GPA based on at least 24 semester hours of credit. If less than 24
credits have been taken, high school transcripts are required.
4. BS in Chemistry/Biochemistry requires 2 courses from Objective V-A,B,C (not
from the same group) and 1 course from V-D; BA in Chemistry requires 1 course
from each of the four options (Objective V-A,B,C,D).
5. Additional course requirements: The BS in Chemistry requires MATH 253, PHYS
251 and 252; the BS in Biochemistry and BA in Chemistry require PHYS 221 and
   222.  The BA in Chemistry requires one of the following courses: ECON 201,202;
   POLS 120,201; PSYC 200; or SOCL 120.
6. Students in the BS in Biochemistry Program may transfer BIOL 270.
7. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements.  See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration.  For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
