NOTES:
1. Grand Valley State University (GVSU) honors the MACRAO Transfer Agreement.
Students whose transcripts are endorsed as "MACRAO Satisfied" will only be
required to meet the following GVSU Provisos:
a. demonstrate proficiencies in math [fulfilled with MATH 112 at LCC]
b. two cultural classes [fulfilled with CHOICE 1 and 2 above]
To use MACRAO, students should request a MACRAO evaluation of their transcript
from the LCC Registrar's Office. Students who do not satisfy MACRAO will have
to satisfy the GVSU General Education Requirements.
2. GVSU accepts a maximum of 62 transferable credits. The GVSU transfer admission
grade point average is 2.50. LCC courses other than those appearing on this
guide should be checked for transferability to the four-year institution.
3. Degree offered: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.
4. GVSU requires 120 credits for the bachelor's degree. Although this program
is completed with over 62 credits, 58 credits are still required at GVSU and
should work with a GVSU advisors when making LCC course selections. Transfer
may occur prior to the completion of this guide.
5. Physicists are usually employed in research and development laboratories in
industry, private institutions, and government. The physicist will normally
be working as a part of a team of scientists and engineers in such research
fields as energy, superconductivity, low temperature, optics, atomic and
nuclear phenomena, radiation, and computers. A physics degree is also
excellent background for positions or further education in such fields as
medicine, law, business administration, teaching, and engineering.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
