Community College has been training tractor trailer drivers since 1965--the
oldest publicly-funded Truck Driver Training school in the United States.
The Truck Driver Training Program is an intensive five-week course that prepares
a person to become an entry level tractor trailer driver. LCC offers more behind
the wheel experience than most schools. Two training sites are
available--Lansing and Battle Creek.

Facts About the Truck Driver Training Program:
- Ninety-percent of LCC Truck Driver Training graduates find positions as truck drivers within 90 days of completing the program.
- Students receive lifetime job placement assistance.
- Instructors are dedicated.
- Training lasts only five weeks from start to finish and consists of no less than 208 hours (approximately 60 hours in the classroom and 148 hours in and around the vehicle).
- Students attend class Monday through Friday from
8 a.m. until 5 p.m. - The program has a modern fleet of tractor-trailer units.
- Graduates receive the State of Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL), the National Safety Council Professional Truck Driver Certificate and the Department of Transportation Certificate.
- The program is a member of the National Association of Publicly-Funded Truck Driving Schools, the Michigan Trucking Association, and the National Safety Council.
