12:15 - 1pm - One Book #OneLCC discussions in the Library.

2:15 - 3:30pm - Watch Immigrants for Sale, a documentary of the abuse, corruption and corporate influence that drives both the rush to privatize incarceration, and the draconian sentencing and immigration laws that make the rush profitable. Movie will be shown in the Centre for Engaged Inclusion (GB 252.02- next to Student Life).

Wednesday 9/16

2 - 3:30pm - Historical Reactions to Immigration, One Book #OneLCC Scholarly Lecture Series in the Library.

  • Listen and learn about historical reactions to immigration in America with LCC History Program faculty David Siwik.

4 - 6:30pm - Watch The Namesake, a movie about the Ganguli family trying to balance honoring the traditions of their native India and blending into American culture. Movie will be shown in the Centre for Engaged Inclusion (GB 252.02- next to Student Life).

Thursday 9/17

2-3:30pm - Everyone has a (immigrant) Story - What's Yours? Take a look at historical immigration through your own personal stories! Come share your story in the Centre for Engaged Inclusion (GB 252.02- next to Student Life).
