Science & Math Challenges Program
for Grades 5 - 6

The Science & Math Challenges Program is designed for young people entering 5th and 6th grades in the fall who are high ability students in the areas of science and math. The program is designed to stimulate the accelerated learner in science, math and computer science.
The program is offered by the Science and Mathematics Education Center at Lansing Community College and is open to students in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties. Sessions are taught by Lansing Community College faculty.
You can have fun and learn this summer with challenging science, math and computer science activities. For one exciting week, you will do fascinating projects in biology, chemistry, physics, math and computer science and learn problem solving and investigative skills.
Students may be dropped off 7:45-8:15 am and must be picked up by 5:15 pm.
Student/Parent Evaluations of Previous Programs
To register, send the following four items to Jeannine Stanaway at the address below. Registration Deadline:
- Registration Form available:
- online
- from your teacher
- Gifted & Talented Coordinator at the Eaton or Ingham
County Intermediate School District
- Clinton County Regional Educational Services Agency - A completed Teacher Evaluation Form.
- A copy of your most recent Report Card.
- Registration fee of $300 in the form of a check made payable to Lansing Community College.
