Regional Science Olympiad
Regional Science Olympiad (RSO) was held at Lansing Community College on Saturday, February 27, 2010. RSO is a science competition with 46 events where teams of 15 students compete. Competitions range from test taking events, involving fossils and amphibians & reptiles, to events where participants construct robots, bridges, or electric vehicles to compete against each other. Scores are accumulated in all events with at least the top 2 teams from the middle and high schools moving on to state level competition in May. The 2010 winners at the middle school level were Mason Middle School (1st place) and Washington Woods Middle School (2nd place); at the high school level, St. Johns High School captured the 1st place spot while Okemos high School placed 2nd and Holt High School 3rd.
