The Laptop Support Specialists at Lansing Community College are primarily responsible for the preparation, installation, and general maintenance of the college's laptop computers. Part-Time and Full-Time LCC staff can be issued a laptop with department approval. The college also provides student access to laptops through the use of our Computers on Wheels (better known as COWS), which are available to instructors throughout our campus locations. The PC Techs ensure that over 2500 of these student, faculty, and staff laptops are regularly updated and maintained.
The PC Techs are currently looking for certain laptops to upgrade. If your laptop is more than a few years old, please visit our Upgrade page and check to see if you are eligible.
The Desktop Support Specialists at Lansing Community College are primarily responsible for the preparation, installation, and general maintenance of the college's desktop personal computers. The college has over 5,300 desktop computers in various locations around LCC's campuses including the computer lab, multi-pc classrooms, library, instructor stations, staff, and faculty workstations. The PC Techs of Lansing Community College prepare system images for deployment across campus, regularly install approved software applications, and upgrade desktop computers when they have reached end-of-life. Making sure that classrooms are ready for each semester by providing updated and relevant software distributions, in addition to responding to emergency incidents, are some of the top-most priorities of the PC Techs.
