There are a significant number of street closures and lane reductions that will affect access to LCC due to a utility investigation, Toys for Tots, and Silver Bells in the City. 
 

Traffic Advisory: Street Closures and Lane Reductions Affecting Access to LCC November 17-23, 2009

The City of Lansing Department of Planning and Neighborhood Development announce that Grand Avenue will be closed between Ottawa Street and Ionia Street beginning 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 for utility investigation.

 

This closure is expected to last through Thursday, November 19, 2009.

 

To access Lansing Community College’s Gannon Parking Ramp driving north on Grand Avenue, turn left (west bound) at Ottawa Street, go to Seymour Street and turn right (north bound), take Seymour Street to Shiawassee Street, turn right (east bound) and take Shiawassee Street to Grand Avenue, turn left (north bound).

Washington Square between Ottawa Street and Ionia Street: Closed from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday 11-18-09 through Midday Monday, 11-23-09 (Marine Corp Toys For Tots)

Closed for the Silver Bells Events Friday, November 20, 2009 (Actual start times will vary - posted times are approximates):

·         Washington Square from Lenawee Street to Allegan Street - 4:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

·         Washington Square from Allegan Street to Ottawa Street - 4:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.

·         Michigan Avenue from Grand Avenue to Capitol Avenue - 4:45 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.

·         Allegan Street from Capitol Avenue to Grand Avenue - 5:15 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

·         Capitol Avenue from Ottawa Street to Allegan Street - 5:15 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

·         Ottawa Street from Grand Avenue to Capitol Avenue - 5:15 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

·         Washtenaw Street between Capitol Avenue and Grand Avenue - 5:15 P.M. to 8:00P.M.

·         Lenawee Street between Capitol Avenue and Grand Avenue - 5:15 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

·         Kalamazoo Street between Capitol Avenue and Grand Avenue - 5:15 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

·         St Joseph Street between I-496 Exit 7A and Washington Avenue - 5:10 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

·         Westbound Michigan Avenue from Cedar Street to Grand Avenue - 5:15 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

 

Lane reductions will be in effect at the following locations:

·         Capitol Avenue between Ionia Street and Ottawa Street – 2:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.

·         Capitol Avenue between Allegan Street and St. Joseph Street - 4:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

·         Allegan Street between Capitol Avenue and Washington Square – 4:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.

·         St. Joseph Street between Grand Avenue and Capitol Avenue – 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Grand Ave will be re-opened to the general public Friday, November 13, 2009. 

Grand Ave will convert back to one-way traffic traveling from South to North with 2 thru lanes.

North Grand Parking Deck eastern entrance on Grand Ave will be opened which should mitigate much of the morning congestion near Ionia/Washington intersection.

The CATA stop near Wentworth Park will also be maintained for service.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Grand Avenue to close between Ottawa Street and Ionia Street for the demolition of the North Grand Avenue Expansion Parking Ramp. 

The closure is expected to begin Friday, July 31 at 9:00 AM.  Grand Avenue will be closed for fourteen (14) weeks.

Detour signs will be placed to guide motorist around the closure.

The North Grand Avenue Parking Ramp will remain open, with access via Ionia Street.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY


1100-900 Block of N. Cedar Street to Close April 2 - September, 2009

The City of Lansing Department of Planning and Neighborhood Development announces that on Thursday, April 2, 2009, N. Cedar Street will be closed to through traffic between E. Grand River Avenue and Oakland Avenue to facilitate construction on the City of Lansing’s Combined Sewer Overflow Control Project.

The posted detour for this street closure is westbound on Grand River Avenue to N. Capitol Avenue; south on N. Capitol Avenue to Saginaw Street; then east on Saginaw Street to return to N. Cedar Street.

This closure of N. Cedar Street is expected to remain in-effect until September of 2009. Updates on the schedule regarding this street closure will be provided as appropriate

LCC Campus Shuttle Service Update

Lansing Community College will not have a shuttle between the Main Campus and West Campus.

  • Remember! You can add monetary value to your StarCard by using a personal check at the Parking and ID Services, Room 215.1 during our current office hours.
