5:30 - 7 PM
Lansing Community College invites high school students, parents, families, and current LCC students to participate in College Night, tonight, from 5:30-7 p.m. Participants will have an opportunity to visit with representatives from 50+ colleges and universities from around the state. The event will be held in the Gannon Building. Free parking is available in any LCC designated parking area and any floor of the Gannon Ramp located on the 600 block of N. The Maker Movement is growing around the world, and Lansing is no exception. This week, a team of more than a dozen local partners kicked-off Michigan's second annual Maker Week and the Midwest's premier Startup Weekend: Maker Edition.
Startup Weekend, hosted by Lansing Community College in partnership with Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), will begin on Friday, October 9. Participants will spend the weekend at LCC's West Campus tech center where they will have access to electronics labs, CAD systems, 3D printers, metal working areas, woodworking tools, and more. They will come to share ideas, form teams, design products, and launch a business-all in 48 hours. Arts & Sciences Building
Lansing Community College is inviting students in kindergarten through sixth grade who are interested in science and math to its annual STEMfest this Saturday. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Arts & Sciences building.
STEMfest is free and will feature demonstrations focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. More than 550 people have reserved their spots. Click here for more information or to RSVP.
