Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) is an enrichment program that offers classes in the arts, science and technology to students 2nd through 9th grades who have demonstrated outstanding academic ability in a particular subject area.

GATE is offered each semester and is a partnership with the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Clinton County Regional Educational Service Agency, the Eaton Intermediate School District, Shiawassee Regional Educational Service District, and Livingston County Schools.

GATE Registration Steps

Help prepare your student for GATE by completing Steps 1-4 prior to  October 24.

A Recommendation Form must be filled out by the student's teachers prior to registration. The form can be mailed, faxed, or emailed to:

Only 1 Recommendation Form will  be needed per year (not needed if submitted Spring & Summer 2015).

Additional Forms should be completed prior to class start date:

  1. Emergency Contact Form
  2. Internet Use Agreement
  3. Lab Safety Instructions


Full Scholarships are available for students in the Lansing School District. Please fill out this when available (check back here within the next few days), if you wish to apply for this scholarship, and mail or fax it to the address on the form.

Scholarships are awarded to those that qualify on a first-come, first-serve basis. Recipients will be notified via email.

Step 4:

To enroll your child:

  • Visit our LCC Online Mall at: for convenient registration and payment processing using your debit, credit, pre-paid credit/debit card.
    • LCC Online Mall can only register one child at a time. If you would like to register two or more children, you will need to make multiple registrations.
    • For Scholarship and Tuition Waiver, a promotional code must be used in LCC Online Mall.

Step 5:

Once your student has completed the LCC Youth GATE program, please complete the Parent Evaluation and Student Evaluation (one survey per student), which will become available at the end of the program.
