National Library Week 2009 (April 13-17)

During National Library Week we want to show you how easy it is to be green! Throughout the week we'll be highlighting green topics to help you on your way. Attend one of our free workshops, get free food, and be on the lookout for green giveaways!

All National Library Week events are FREE and open to the public.

National Library Week serves as an opportunity to recognize the important contributions of our nation's libraries. As champions of literacy and freedom of information, libraries are an essential part of societal advancement. National Library Week has been observed nationally each April since 1958. Enjoy a FREE sampling of dishes prepared by Hospitality Program students created using locally grown ingredients. Talk with and pick up information about local growers. Recipes and nutritional information will be available.

Elegant Eco Bags: Part 1

Wondering what to do with all those plastic bags? Learn the basics to crochet a bag from plastic bags. You will discover how to process plastic bags into 'yarn' and will begin a beach bag, shopping bag, or purse. No crocheting experience necessary. Supplies will be provided.
