Stage Technology Program
"We can't thank you enough for your help in making our most recent event
a huge success! Your department and team of students helped create a
wonderful atmosphere for our guests with your innovative ideas and professional
prop design. Your enthusiasm, cooperation and results were outstanding,
and we appreciate your willingness to go over and above from start to finish.
How lucky we are to have such a great resource right here in Lansing, Michigan."
Bob Fernholz, Producer, d/s Events, Williamston, Michigan
LCC's Stage Technology Program offers training in the technical skills associated with the stage technology industry, as well as the general education studies needed to round out this highly specialized learning experience. Stage technicians perform a variety of tasks in the entertainment, marketing, sporting and convention industries. They may work as prop assistants, stage or production mangers, still camera operators, painters, costume designers, lighting designers, art directors, pyrotechnicians, carpenters or electricians.
Stage technicians need to have a basic knowledge of carpentry, including tool use, woodworking, metalworking, plastics and painting; electricity and lighting; stage rigging; and audio/video set-up, operation and maintenance. The LCC Stage Technology Program offers instructions in these areas and more.
