Student, Alumni, Faculty and Staff Membership Information

Beginning Fall 2017

There will no longer be a fee for Fitness Memberships.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
All individuals must be in good standing with Lansing Community College.  This includes but is not limited to having no holds on your account.

You must be a current student, staff, or faculty.  To qualify as an alumni you must have previously taken a minimum of one credit.

Alumni must be registered through the Alumni Association in order to acquire a STAR Card.  Click on this link for more information.  http://www.lcc.edu/foundation/alumni/membership/.

Students can acquire their STAR Card by visiting the Star Zone in the Gannon Building.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Accessing the Fitness Center
An individual must be in good standing* with the college. All individuals must have a valid STAR Card.  To access the Fitness Center(s) / Weight Room you must present your STAR Card EVERY visit. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy.

Locks & Lockers
Lockers & locks are for DAILY USE ONLY. You may use your own lock or check one out at the Fitness Service Center located between the Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms on Main Campus or at the Front Desk of the West Campus Fitness Center. All items must be removed daily from lockers no later than ½ hour past closing.

Delinquent Locker Operation
Locks will be removed from lockers and the contents confiscated and disposed of ½ hour past closing.  There is a lost lock fee of $4 for any unreturned lock(s). If a lock is not returned, a hold will be placed on an individual’s account and access to the Fitness Center(s) / Weight Room will be denied.

Towel Policy
Towels are for daily use only. Towels will be available at the front desk in the Fitness Centers and Weight Room, as well as the Fitness Service Center located between the Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms on Main Campus. When leaving the Fitness Center(s) / Weight Room used towels are to be placed in the “Dirty” bin.
There is a lost towel fee of $4 for any unreturned towel(s). If a towel is not returned, a hold will be placed on an individual’s account and access to the Fitness Center(s) / Weight Room will be denied.

Personal Property
Lansing Community College and The Physical Fitness & Wellness Program will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced property. Please report any theft to a PFW Faculty and Police and Public Safety, GB 251, 517-483-1800.

Electronics Policy
The use of cell phones, camera phones, or any other recording device is prohibited in the fitness center, locker rooms, weight room, and other activity areas. Cell phones may be used for “audio” use only, i.e. music. There is no talking, texting, or other activity allowed.

Gym (GB 3128)
Appropriate gym attire is required.

Fitness Centers (GB 2115 & WCB 126)
Appropriate gym attire such as T-shirt, shorts, sweats, and athletic shoes (no street shoes). Gym bags are not allowed; they should be stored in lockers.

Combat Room (GB 2156)
NO SHOES!!! Bare feet or socks only

Weight Room (GB 1115)
Appropriate gym attire such as T-shirt, shorts, sweats, and athletic shoes (no street shoes). No lifting alone. No gym bags allowed in the weight room. The use of collars is required with all Olympic bars. There is NO food allowed. Weights are to be placed in correct order after use. Do not drop, slam or throw weights.

Insurance
It is recommended that individuals have a health and accident insurance policy. It should be noted that each individual is responsible for providing his/her own coverage.

Health
An annual physical examination is strongly recommended.

VIOLATION OF ANY RULE OR REGULATION IS GROUNDS FOR REMOVAL AND/OR A PERMANENT BAN FROM THE FITNESS CENTER(S) / WEIGHT ROOM.

Fitness Hours
Members are welcome to use either Fitness Center as well as the Weight Room during open hours. All facilities are open five to seven days per week. For a current schedule of open hours follow this link or stop in at either fitness center.

Benefits of a Fitness Membership
A Lansing Community College Student Fitness Membership entitles you to workout in either of LCC's two beautiful Fitness Centers and Weight Room. The Main Campus Fitness Center and Weight Room is located in the Gannon building in Downtown Lansing. The West Campus Fitness Center is located off of Snow Road at 5708 Cornerstone Drive. Both fitness centers include weight training equipment, treadmills, elliptical and other aerobic machines, a walking/jogging track, and stretching areas.
