Historically Black Colleges and Universities

Fall 2016 HBCU College Tour

Each year Lansing Community College (LCC) sponsors a select group of students on a tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) as a part of the Lansing Black College Tour. Participants learn about the rich history of HBCU institutions in addition to becoming aware of admissions requirements and transfer opportunities.

During the Fall 2016 Black College Tour, students will visit the following institutions:

  • Dillard University
  • Southern University, New Orleans
  • Grambling State University
  • Tougaloo College
  • Xavier University
  • Southern University, Baton Rouge
  • Alcorn State University
  • Jackson State University

All completed applications are due by October 12, 2016. Applications can be submitted to Ashlee Stokes via email at or turned into the Academic Advising Desk at LCC.

HBCU College Tour Application

The Historically Black Colleges and Universities is a consortium of five educational institutions whose campuses are located in close proximity, creating a unique university setting.

  • Clark Atlanta University
  • The Interdenominational Theological Center
  • Morehouse College
  • Morehouse School of Medicine
  • Spelman College

All students can cross register at the other HBCU institutions to gain access to a broader collegiate experience.

Prior to 2002 Morris Brown was a member of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
