CURRICULUM GUIDE

Teacher Paraprofessional
Certificate of Completion

Curriculum Code: 0829 (Effective Fall 2003 - Summer 2008)

The certificate offers a foundation in educational concepts and a practical
introduction to classroom management and content-area instruction. It is
intended for students who may have already met federal requirements for teacher
paraprofessionals by completing 60 college credits or an associate degree in a
field other than education. It is also recommended as preparation for students
who plan to take the state-approved exam for paraprofessionals. Courses in this
certificate may also be applied toward an associate degree or transfer program
leading to teacher certification.

Students should see Course Descriptions or Course Offerings for course
prerequisite information. See the Assessment and Placement Testing section for
skills assessment and advising information.
