Does the idea of managing a busy hotel appeal to you? Would you like to become a travel agent, investigate destinations first-hand, and then plan trips to exotic locales and book cruises to foreign ports for your clients? 

Whether you want secure employment in mid-Michigan or a career which could take you anywhere in the world, you can start at Lansing Community College.

LCC offers the following associate degrees:

Hotel-Lodging/Food Management with an option of one of the following three subchoices:  Hotel-Lodging Management, Food Service Management, or Culinary Arts.

Travel and Tourism

LCC also offers the following certificates of completion:

Food Service Management
Hotel-Lodging Management
Tour and Cruise Operations
Travel Agency Operations

As a Culinary Arts Specialist  you learn the art and science of preparing traditional and contemporary cuisine with an emphasis on production and management.

As a Food Management Specialist  you learn how to manage food production, cost control, labor productivity, and law and regulations relating to the food service industry.

As a Hotel/Lodging Specialist  you learn how to direct, manage, and  coordinate the activities of a hotel, or other lodging unit, as a front desk clerk, housekeeper, and/or manager.

As a Travel Specialist  you may become a travel counselor, tour manager, meetings or events manager, or work with airlines, tour wholesalers, or the cruise industry.

In addition, LCC offers many personal interest courses in food preparation, nutrition, and bartending.
